Akado to migrate to EuroDOCSIS standard by 2012

Akado-Stolitsa, a Moscow subsidiary of Russian telecommunications group Akado, plans to complete the upgrade of its cable network in Moscow to EuroDOCSIS technology standard by the end of 2011. Therefore, the company expects to increase its network capacity by 25%.

According to Mikhail Medresh, the company’s CEO, the transition to EuroDOCSIS creates necessary conditions for introduction of EuroDOCSIS 3.0 which will allow the provision of 200 Mbps internet access to the customers.

As follows from data of ComNews, in October 2011 Akado served 680,000 of broadband internet customers and more than one million of pay TV subscribers in Moscow, the main operational market of the group.
