Secondary mobile handset market in Russia in Q3 2014

Avito, one of the leading internet ads services in Russia, has presented figures relative to the secondary market of mobiles in Q3 2014. According to the research, in terms of sales a leader in Q3 2014 was iPhone with a share of 40.3%, 1 p.p. up quarter-on-quarter. It is worth highlighting that the end of the previous quarter iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus were introduced. The new devices from Apple appeared in the second half of the September, which significantly increased the number of offered previous generation iPhones. The runner-up was Samsung with 17% of sales, a decline of 0.8 p.p compared to Q2 2014. A negative trend concerned also Nokia (-1.3 p.p) and HTC (-0.4 p.p). Sony enjoyed 6.4% share, the same result as in the previous quarter. Mobile devices of LG, Lenovo and Fly achieved better results than a quarter before. Both Alcatel and Huawei did not overcome 1%. An average selling price reported by Avito for Apple devices reached RUB 9,800 (€203), RUB 4,900 (€101) for Samsung and RUB 2,900 (€60) for Nokia’s models.
