Nokia extends an agreement with Russian Vimpelcom

Nokia and Russian provider of telecommunications services, VimpelCom (Beeline brand), signed a five-year contract under which Nokia will manage network operations and field maintenance for VimpelCom's fixed, mobile and transport networks.

Nokia, which has been managing services for VimpelCom's network in central Russia, will extend this responsibility to manage VimpelCom's 2G, 3G and 4G networks in the Southern and North Caucasian regions of Russia.

VimpelCom, part of Veon group, currently has more than 58m mobile and 2.2m fixed broadband customers in Russia. Nokia is a global service market leader with more than 200 mobile and fixed managed services agreements across the world. About 2/3 of these contracts consist of multi-vendor networks.
