Czech Republic: sales of mobile phones fell by 5% in 2016

The sales of mobile phones in the Czech Republic fell by 5% in 2016, according to GfK. It means that ca. 3.2m devices were sold last year in the Czech Republic. The sales of traditional phones dropped by one third, but on the other hand, there was an increase of 5% in the number of smartphones sold. Worldwide the growth reached almost 7%. The most popular brands in the Czech Republic in 2016 included Samsung, Apple and Huawei. Customers were likely to  buy smartphones with support for 4G LTE internet. They also preferred models with 5-5.6 inch screen, which sales grew from 44% in 2015 to 67% in 2016.
