Poland: 15% drop in PC sales at the beginning of 2017

Computer sales in Poland dropped by 15.3% y-o-y at the beginning of 2017, according to Context. It is associated with a low demand for desktops in companies, which decreased by 14%. Consolidated sales of consumer-targeted PCs in Europe dropped by 4% y-o-y in January and February, while the figure amounted to -3% y-o-y in the business segment.  Furthermore, the sales of consumer notebooks dedicated to consumer markets as well as business computers shrunk by 3%. On the other hand, the demand for business notebooks increased. The percentage of appliances with Windows 10 Pro sold to commercial clients in February 2017 reached 62% among Windows PC users, which means a growth by 14 p.p. in comparison with December 2016.
