About 42% of Polish SMEs sell their products via internet, according to the research “Polish consumer in the network”, conducted by home.pl. They own e-shops, use online social networking services (e.g. Facebook) or auction services (e.g. Allegro) to sell goods and services. Their business profile include IT services (18%), followed by marketing and PR services (16%). SMEs selling online also survey their customers’ needs using free and generally available analytical tools and ask for a feedback from clients. According to home.pl research, men aged 33-49 shop online most frequently (42%), while women aged 50 and more are least likely to buy something online. Almost two thirds of e-customers do the shopping using computers or laptops.
