Internet users up by 14%

The number of Internet users across Russia grew by 14% year on year in 2010 as a result of regional expansion, according to the research firm TNS. Currently, 59% of Russians over 12 years old access the Internet at least once a month, with 67% of those based in Moscow. The use of social networks grew by 22% with over 27 million Russians accessing at least one social site once a month. The most popular social network is VKontakte with 12 million visits every day, followed by Odnoklassniki (7.2 million) and Moy Mir (5.3 million).
